Announcement

Dear colleagues and friends, Hereby I officially declare to step back from my profession as a singer. The last productions which I planned in collaboration with partners did not go as I wished and left me very wounded as a professional opera singer. My priorities which I communicated openly were not taken seriously - I was left alone with preparations and my name was abused for projects which were not performed professionally in the end. Contracts were broken, my ideas and work were stolen and I was even tricked into a performance without any professional organization. If this is, what Covid-19 left us artists in the business, I gladly end my stage work here and from now on I focus on my personal life and on my work as a writer and artist. The date of my dernieres will be announced soon. The concerts will contain once again Dvorak's Moravian duets in Regensburg and my perfomance of Rossini's Giovanna d'Arco. Jeanne la Pucelle by D. Hommage to Barbara Blomberg

Bild
Today we celebrate the holy Rosary feast! It is a catholic tradition which dates back to 1571, the year in which Don Juan de Austria won the important sea battle at Lepanto against the turkish aggressors which tried to invade Europe.  His mother was Barbara Blomberg, a girl from Regensburg, called "Beautiful Barbara" by the citizens, because she was not only a beautiful girl, but she also was known for her beautiful voice. In 1546, when Barbara was only 19 years old, Emperor Karl V came to Regensburg for the Reichstag and heard her sing during a holy mass. He fell for her voice and beauty immediately and invited her to his hotel "Goldenes Kreuz". 9 months later their son Johannes was born. Aged 3 he was taken away from his mother violently by the Emperor's servants and brought to Spain, where he was raised and educated to become a military man...and since the Christians' prayers to the Mother of God led to his success to save Europe from the turkish invasion...

Revival of European Salon culture !

Bild
This autumn we bring back the old times of Europe's cultural glory...when our Salon for literature and music opens its doors in my Bavarian homeland. Placed in Reichenbach, a pittoresque village in the country with a rich history, not far from the Unesco world heritage city of Regensburg, it will offer a variety of cultural events and educational classes: in collaboration with national and international artists and teachers an exchange of cultural topics will be offered to every one who is interested in music and literature! Salon-Programme Astrid Mathyshek's Green Salon in Reichenbach, Bavaria Contact: astridmathyshek@gmail.com The tradition of cultural salons - literary salons and musical salons - dates back to the 16th century. As an artist, singer and writer, it has always been my deepest wish to re-establish such a gathering for artists to discuss and organize art projects and musical productions in an aesthetic environment of noble decency and class. Our first season in a...
